Two Choice Menu

Food for Tots offers our customers the option to customize their menu by choosing between two meal choices each and every day! We create two four-week menus annually: one for the Spring and Summer seasons and one for the Fall & Winter seasons. Food for Tots also offers toddler modifications for meal items that need a texture modification.

Through our menu options our customers are introduced to variety - both in selection and ethnicity! Our menus truly reflect the cultural mosaic of the GTA by offering many multicultural, homemade and children’s favourites. Each menu option includes a selection of seasonal fruits and vegetables.

Dietician-Approved Menus

Everything we serve is developed and approved by our knowledgeable Head Chef and Nutritionist and approved by a third-party Registered Dietician. Our menu conforms to the Canadian Food Guide, Day Nursery Act and all municipal criteria in the Greater Toronto Area.

Allergy Management

We understand the complexities of managing children’s allergies. We can accommodate most allergies, multi-allergy requests and religious and dietary restrictions. Our facility is 100% nut-free, pork-free and shellfish-free. Allergy-free meals are prepared in a separate area by a Red Seal Chef.

Simplified Menu Planning

Leave the planning to us! Catering a lunch program means you’ll never have to worry about menu planning, shopping, and storage space or meal variety ever again. Plus our catering program provides consistent meal costs so say goodbye to fluctuations in food costs.

Food Safety

We follow strict health and safety regulations. All our staff members have food handling certifications. We host Food inspectors quarterly; follow occupational health and safety regulations. We record our kitchen facility temperature three times a day and the temperate of our refrigerators and freezers are electronically monitored 24 hours a day. Food is delivered in thermal containers to ensure food temperatures are maintained at or above health department standards. Our Health Department reports are available for customers to view.

Customer Service

At Food for Tots we work as a dedicated team to provide outstanding customer service. We are always interested to hear feedback from our customers. We conduct regular surveys to ensure our menu is being well-received by the children. We take our customer feedback and try to work with you to ensure a successful lunch program.

Keeping You Informed

Food for Tots provides training and support for centre staff at all stages. We regularly keep centres up to date through daily communications, and monthly newsletters. We are also available to answer any questions you or the children’s parents may have on our menu offerings.
