Local and Sustainable
Food for Tots is focused on sustainability now and for your children’s future. Sustainability is about collaboration and continuous improvement. Working with local food suppliers, reducing waste, and preferring reusable and recycled materials are a part of Food for Tots overall sustainable strategy.
Doing Away with Disposable
Food for Tots is committed to being an environmentally friendly company. We use reusable packaging in a lot of our shipping methods (thermal bags and boxes) We are currently making changes to some of our disposable packaging to paper/recyclable materials. We are very excited about the positive impact this change is having for our customers and the environment.
Choosing local farmers and suppliers helps protect precious farmland from becoming overdeveloped. At Food for Tots, we recognize the importance of supporting local farmers and food producers. It is our priority to buy from sources that are local and Canadian. Our menu is chock full of foods sourced from local vendors, more than 50 items are either sourced locally or are Canadian made. Buying local doesn’t just mean the freshest ingredients for our customers but we can help to reduce our carbon footprint when less packaging and shorter transit times.
Sustainability is also about collaboration with our local community and continuous improvement. Food for Tots is located in Markham, ON and we love and respect our surrounding community. We make regular donations to local food banks and support events that promote children’s wellness. We believe that every family deserves good, nutritious food and the chance to thrive in an active life.
